Microplastics

Microplastics will sample microplastics at selected sites across the IMOS National Mooring Network, including National Reference Stations, complementing routine sampling at moorings and established time-series. Building upon a running sampling and microplastic identification program already in existence at the IMOS Yongala (Great Barrier Reef) National Reference Station, Microplastics will establish a database of microplastic contamination and type in coastal and shelf waters around Australia.
