User feedback is always welcome and where applicable implemented to enhance AODN systems. The most recent release 4.38.20 of the AODN Portal Infrastructure - released Friday 7 September, includes two (2) new enhancements made to the AODN Portal download process, for gridded data aggregations.
File aggregation notification email detail
A user receives two emails during the file aggregation process - the first a commencement email and the second a completion email, both containing a job number and a link to the status page of the job. Once the second email is received the status link can be used to access the data download.
The first enhancement is the addition of greater detail in these system generated notification emails, that are sent when a user selects to download a gridded data aggregation. Now with the inclusion of the collection name, subset details such as spatial, temporal and depth filters users can now easily differentiate between download requests.
Gridded data download file names
The second enhancement is to the aggregated data file and file name. When a user now downloads the Zip file, the name of the Zip will be 'IMOS_aggregations_date/time', and it will contain the netCDF download (aggregated data file) and two (2) xml files - the metadata of the collection which will have the collection name, and a file 'request.xml' with the subset details the user applied during step-2.
