Many data collections in the AODN Portal are extremely large and users only require a small subset. The subsetting options, on Step 2 of the three-stage process, are used to define how much data to download, they include: spatial, temporal, depth, species and other filter options.
The additional filters (listed under “Others”) available for each collection will differ, and are specific to the collection, and will need to be set for each collection separately. Some collections have multiple filter options including, but not limited to, Platform Codes, Project Codes, Species Names, Site Codes and Species Classification categories. New to the AODN Portal is the ability to select multiple options within the same filter, for these additional collection filters.
For example, see the screenshot at right, within the selected collection, the user is able to subset for multiple deployments (BMP070-1702, SYD100-1401, WACA20-1403) when previously they were only able to select only one deployment.
