Applying IMOS data
The Data from the project is available via a special web site:
Metadata for all of the components of GBROOS is available via the eMII MEST which can be accessed from this site.
Much of the real-time data can also be accessed using a software product called Data Turbine that includes a free client software package called RDV (real-time data viewer). RDV is a Java program that can be downloaded here.
To connect to the GBROOS Server do the following:
- start RDV by double clicking the installed Java file
- One the File Menu select Connect
- Enter data.aims.gov.au as the server and 3333 as the port
- In the drop down box in the top centre of the screen select 1W - this will show the last weeks worth of data, you can overwrite this with as many weeks as you want to view such as 4w for four weeks
- Now expand the tree in the left panel to select a channel to plot, double click to plot
- To plot another variable just double click it, to plot one variable with another plot the first one and then drag and drop the second one from the left pane onto the first plot
- There are more instructions on the GBROOS-Data web site.
Note that if you want to use the GBROOS data make sure you read the pages on the web site that describe the data and how it was collected, if in doubt contact the GBROOS Project Manager for more help.
