The FAIMMS Facility is managed by the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS) on behalf of a number of partners.

The Island Research Stations are each part of the Topical Marine Network which is a joint educational program of the University of Sydney (One Tree Island), University of Queensland (Heron Island), James Cook University (Orpheus Island) and the Australian Museum (Lizard Island).

Other partners to FAIMMS include the Queensland Cyber Infrastucture Foundation (QCIF) and the University of Melbourne through the ARC Research Network on Intelligent Sensors, Sensor Networks and Information Processing (ISSNIP).
