All software developed by the AODN is released under the GNU general public licence version 3 (GNU GPLv3).
The GNU GPLv3 is a copyleft license that requires anyone who distributes AODN code, or a derivative work, to make the source available under the same terms, and also provides an express grant of patent rights from contributors to users.
The licence is included in the root directory of every AODN source repository.
The licence is placed in a file called LICENSE.txt. The project’s README should include a note stating that the project is licensed under the terms of the GNU GPLv3.
The licence text is available here: https://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-3.0.en.html
The AODN Maintains a list of useful links to organisations and/or websites that can provide more information specific to data tools, national/international collaborators or related infrastructure.
