Phased Array Data Example

Surface current map of the southern Great Barrier Reef domain derived from two WERA (phased array) radar stations at Tannum Sands and Lady Elliot Island in Queensland. Tannum Sands and Lady Elliot Island WERA stations operate on the same frequency (8.340 MHz with 33 KHz bandwidth) with each station alternating 5 min on and 5 min off. This particular map was created from a power spectrum obtained for individual pixels sampled during a ten minute period. This map as from 28 Nov 2007 at 0305 UT and has not been processed through ACORN quality control.
