Calendar event
This year, the Society for Conservation Biology Oceania Section Meeting will be held in Hobart, Tasmania and is expected to attract 300 or more delegates. This will be the second Oceania section meeting, following the extremely successful meeting in Sydney in 2007. Since the Sydney meeting, the need to re- valuate our management of biodiversity in the light of rapid global change has become even clearer. On behalf of the Organising Committee I would therefore like to invite to Hobart scientists, managers, policy-makers, NGOs and students in all areas of conservation biology to discuss these issues and set priorities for future research and action.
The theme of the meeting will be: "Managing Biodiversity in a Time of Global Change". The meeting will address this theme across a full range of Oceanian terrestrial, freshwater, and marine ecosystems as well as Antarctic ecosystems.
