AMOS AND MET. SOC. OF NZ
The main theme of the meeting is Atmospheric and Oceanic Extremes. However, abstracts and papers from any area of atmospheric science and oceanography are welcome. The conference committee recommends the following sub-themes:
- Severe storms (inc. hail and tornadoes)
- Drought and seasonal climate variability
- Climate change & extremes
- Floods & extreme rainfall events
- Tropical cyclones
- Tsunamis
AWES
Part of a series of meetings held about every 18 months to promote and facilitate cooperation and exchange of ideas among researchers and practitioners in Wind Engineering and related fields of study, this joint meeting with AMOS has a focus on climatology, wind energy, wind dynamics/response, failure and fatigue, risk analysis, topography, wind vulnerability and windborne debris. In addition to regular conference sessions, there will be two full-day workshops on 31 January – 1 February on:
- Cyclone Tracy – revisited
- Wind vulnerability
All wind engineering related abstracts are welcome.
