Getting access to Glider Data
Data will soon be available through eMII. In the meantime, see below for some examples of Glider data from Rottnest Island, near Perth.

The Deployment
On the 17th January 2006 the Slocum Glider, ‘Darwin’, was deployed off the coast of Perth, Western Australia. The glider was deployed for 22 days, traversing 485 km and performing 2420 vertical profiles (Figure 6). It recorded CTD and optical backscatter, transmitting data to shore in near real-time via satellite. Depth averaged currents were also estimated based on the difference between the gliders dead-reckoned position and surface GPS fixes.
