The target research communities cover climate change and its impacts, particularly in the marine environment, seasonal-to-interannual climate variability and prediction, Antarctic and Southern Ocean research across all time scales, ocean/marine variability and prediction. There are a range of research activities that indirectly draw on ocean observation infrastructure, including weather prediction, studies of the water and carbon cycles, and cryospheric research.
