The Sydney Institute of Marine Science (SIMS) is the lead operational agency for AATAMS. SIMS is a joint venture, between Macquarie University, the University of New South Wales, the University of Sydney and the University of Technology, Sydney based at Chowder Bay.
International Programs
The Ocean Tracking Network (OTN), based at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, has also provided funding towards the development of AATAMS facility. OTN is a large-scale global initiative that comprehensively monitors ocean conditions and marine life responses in five oceans and across all seven continents. Researchers from around the world have joined the OTN contributing to a comprehensive marine data collection effort that will enable analyses of how marine life and the climate are changing worldwide
